Reiki healing is a gentle, non-invasive form of energy healing that promotes balance and relaxation across the body, mind, and spirit. Originating in Japan, the word ‘Reiki’ translates to “universal life energy.” Practitioners channel this energy through their hands to help clear blockages, restore energetic flow, and encourage the body’s natural healing processes.
During a Reiki healing session, the practitioner places their hands either lightly on or just above the body, depending on your preference. The energy intuitively flows to where it’s needed most — often areas where emotional or physical tension is being held. You may feel warmth, tingling, or a wave-like sensation, though some people simply feel very calm and peaceful.
Reiki healing doesn’t involve massage, pressure, or manipulation. It is suitable for everyone — including people undergoing stress, illness, recovery, or emotional upheaval. It works by helping you shift into a state of deep relaxation, allowing your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and repair mode) to activate.
From a more holistic viewpoint, Reiki is believed to help restore the body’s energy field, remove stagnant energy, and support the emotional release of tension, grief, or stress. Many clients describe it as a “reset” or “recharge” — a moment of stillness that brings greater clarity and comfort.
